Whitewater rafting consists of traversing a stretch of water in an inflatable raft. Trips normally span for about 5-7 hours, including a break for a waterside lunch. Experience is not necessary on some of the milder trips, and guides will provide comprehensive training prior to beginning any trip; plus support during. The ability to swim is helpful, but not required, and many non-swimmers take to the water every year. All guests are provided with all necessary safety equipment: a Coast Guard Approved Type V Life Jacket, Paddle and Helmet.

The Gauley River is dam controlled, ensuring the optimum rafting flow in the fall. This is an incredible rafting experience that is best experienced over two days in order to fully enjoy all the adventures that the Gauley and River Expeditions have to offer.
