“Early fall is one of the best times to go white water rafting on the Gauley River.” Says River Expeditions owner, Rick Johnson. “Gauley Savings days are a really great choice for many rafters because they can bring a friend for the day!”

Fall rafting on the Upper and Lower Gauley Rivers is an extraordinary way to experience the changing of the seasons in West Virginia. The Upper Gauley is known for its intensity, and as the 7th best course in the world, this reputation is well earned. If you are looking for a trip a bit lower on the adrenaline scale, try the Lower Gauley River, which is full of opportunities for swimming and taking pictures. Fall Gauley Savings Galore is a great opportunity to experience nature and thrills, without taking a hit to the budget.

River Expeditions is home to a variety of onsite lodging options; with something to fit every taste! Whether you prefer “glamping” (glamorous camping), getting down to the earth on the campsite, or something in between, the River Expeditions Adventure Resort has the ideal lodging situation to fit your needs. These options include a variety of different cabins with varying degrees of “modernity” to fit whichever trip you feel!

White water rafting consists of traveling down a stretch of water in an inflatable raft. Trips generally last about 5-7 hours, including a waterside break for lunch. Experience is not necessary on some trips, but is helpful. The ability to swim is not required, but also can be helpful. All guests are equipped with the necessary safety equipment – a Coast Guard approved Type V Life Jacket, Paddle and Helmet.
