River Expeditions welcomes the opportunity to share our love of the outdoors with your group. We thrive in an environment that promotes fun and fellowship among Youth and Scouts. Outdoor experiences have powerful physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual influences on young people. These influences make a lasting impact and support healthy development among youth. Contact our office for details on group adventure options and make your next group outing one that really counts.
We are proud to offer merit badge certification for Scouts, following the BSA Whitewater Merit Badge requirements, including a review of the BSA Safety Afloat and the American Whitewater safety guidelines as part of the program and a whitewater trip using either a canoe or kayak on a Class I or Class II section of the river. Boy Scouts must have earned the Canoeing merit badge if they will be using a canoe or the Kayaking BSA Award if they will be using a kayak, before attempting the Whitewater merit badge.

We are excited that West Virginia is the new permanent home of the Boy Scouts National Scout Jamboree – The Summit. River Expeditions is also the closest whitewater rafting adventure resort to The Summit Bechtel Reserve, home of the National Jamboree. If you are looking for accommodations for either your Scout or other family members, our Adventure Resort provides great facilities, only 15 minutes away from The Summit.
While your Scout is at the Jamboree, you can enjoy the excitement of your own outdoor adventure, with whitewater rafting trips, hiking, mountain climbing, zipline canopy tours and even horseback riding. Our accommodations include everything from Luxury Cabins to wooded campgrounds. To meet a variety of tastes, we offer several types of cabins:
Deluxe Cabins feature four double bedrooms, a seating area, bathroom/shower, fridge, coffee maker, heat and a/c, linens and towels, gas grill on the porch and fire ring and picnic table outside. Each cabin sleeps up to 8 people.

Leisure Cabins feature four double beds, 1 bunkbed, and 1 single bed upstairs, a seating area with sofa and loveseat, bathroom/shower, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, heat and a/c, linens and towels, gas grill on the porch and fire ring and picnic table outside.
