If you’re visiting the New River Gorge for the amazing whitewater rafting, it’s definitely worth spending some time also exploring local shopping and attractions. After a little time there, you’ll realized that the New River Gorge is home to a number of activities – both on and off the water. Some of our personal favorites include hiking, horseback riding, eating, zip lining and of course, shopping.

Studio B Gallery & Gifts: This art gallery has way more than just paintings on the wall – it also includes a variety of work from local West Virginia artisans in a number of mediums, including photography and ceramics. Oh and they also have a huge selection of craft beer and wine (from local and regional sources).
New River Antique Mall: Because you truly never know what you’re going to find! This antique mall in particular is home to 34 vendors and has an impressive assortment of antiques – and stories to go with them. Don’t go here if you’re in a hurry as you’ll definitely be late 😉
Great Googly Moogly: The name in and of itself should give you an idea for the type of fun things you’ll find here! The first thing you’ll notice is that it’s actually located in a refurbished gas station – the second thing that you’ll notice is the huge variety of unique and interesting items.

New River Bikes: Love biking? Brought your own (and need to make some repairs)? Looking to get a new bike? All of these things are possible here. Add in an experienced staff and wide selection of equipment, and you’re sure to leave happy.
Gauley River Pottery: Staying true to the theme of the New River Gorge, the founders of this business have backgrounds in kayaking and other river sports. Not to mention an incredible selection of beautiful pottery that you can sometimes watch them make.
Tamarack: As seen in the photo above, this is a must-see for the region. Tamarack is full of art, exhibits, and locally crafted gifts – like toys, jewelry, instruments, and just about anything creative that you can think of.
